Jin Maqam is part of the whole maqam or music scale , consist of 4 consecutive tones, the tone intervals vary in each Jins, each jins give unique emotional sensation.

Each maqam has main jins called diwan and seconday jins.

the following are the maqams ajnas(jins plural) and their main emotional expression.

Jins Rast: 1, 3/4 , 3/4 first appeard arabic maqam ,straightforwardness(estiqama),pride, power.

Jins Byati: 3/4, 3/4 , 1 tenderness,delicacy,joy, vitality, feminine love.

Jins Ajam(Major) 1 ,1, 1/2 mainly western scale, majesty, cheerfulness, strength.

Jins Nahawand(minor) 1 , 1/2, 1 mainly western music with dramatic feeling with extreme emotions with a tint of sadness. 

Jins Hijaz 1/2, 11/2, 1/2 first appeard in hijaz region(gulf region), pity, sadness, distant desert,solitude.

Jins Kurd 1/2, 1, 1 nostalgia,longing, romance,gentleness.

Jins Saba 3/4, 3/4 ,1 sadness, pain , trajedy.
